Soul reset Yoga, Tre & Meditation Retreat
Located 2hrs north of Puerto Vallarta, the shuttle will greet you at the airport and take you on an easy ride to the little village of Chacala. The town and Mar De Jade resort sit right on the Pacific Ocean. The grounds include ocean front hammocks, swimming pool, cold plunge, hot tub, full spa services and reading lounge.
Our yoga space is fully equipped with all the props we need including mats, blocks, bolsters, blankets and straps. Feel free to pack light and leave your yoga mat at home!
Mar De Jade provides meals that are carefully prepared daily from scratch using fresh, local and when possible, organic produce and ingredients. Many vegetables, fruits and legumes come from their own 17-acre organic farm. The menu is mainly vegetarian with chicken and seafood options. We’ll enjoy three meals a day, all included in the price of the retreat.
Excursions abound! In your free time you can add excursions and really explore or indulge—you can surf, go whale watching, hike, snorkel, enjoy the temazcal sweat lodge or any of the other many options. Excursions haven’t been built into this retreat as, more often than not, attendees find with the deep work we do that they wish to slowdown, unwind and simply relax among the gorgeous resort facilities with their free time.

The purpose of this yoga retreat is to deeply reset. It’s no secret that one of the greatest epidemics we face is chronic stress. The World Health Organization has called stress the health epidemic of the twenty-first century! It’s a little known fact that 75-90% of doctor visits in the US stem from stress related causes. Anxiety? Sleep problems? Digestive problems? Depression? TMJ? Skin problems? Mood swings? Burnout? The list could go on and on. This is the life we’re living in this day and age, if we wish to live a long healthy life we must take time out of our busy lives to deeply reset.
I’ve come to know and understand stress very well. With a history of overcoming and healing from Complex PTSD, I’ve made it my mission to understand how we can naturally reduce stress and actually heal from the inside out. All of the techniques I present over the course of this week are tried and true methods that will not only deeply reset you, but arm you with tools you can take home to maintain an ongoing sense of wellbeing.
We will simultaneously move & sweat and deeply relax & nourish. The Ki Yoga practices will be a combination of Strengthening & Restorative, coupled with Tension & Trauma Releasing Exercises (TRE) and vagal toning meditations. Kiara (Ki) will be assisted on this retreat so that each of the total 19 participants welcomed can get lots of attention on their mat in the form of guidance and nourishing assists.
Strengthening Ki Yoga Sessions: these practices are built to wake you up and get both the blood and lymph flowing. Exercise is one of the most simple, yet powerful tools we can use to burn off the stress response and increase the feel good chemicals in our body. These sequences will challenge you, but props will be used and modifications always offered.
Restorative Ki Yoga Sessions: these practices are built to deeply relax and nourish your body. It is imperative to have time for rest; we double our efforts when that rest is done in the form of a relaxing meditation coupled with breath and awareness. Our evening sessions are aimed at bringing you back to your baseline, homeostasis, with an ability to feel calm and regulated in your parasympathetic nervous system. The poses are a combination of both yin and restorative postures, coupled with therapeutic hands-on adjustments and aromatherapy. Bring your eye pillow to deeply enjoy these sessions!
Tension & Trauma Releasing Exercises (TRE): this is a powerful practice that releases deeply embedded tension in the nervous system and tissues. Named one of the biggest wellness trends by Harper’s Bazaar and featured in O Magazine as a powerful technique to heal from chronic stress and trauma. Trauma is just at one end of the tension or stress spectrum, we all suffer from varying degrees of stress, which is why each and everyone of us can benefit from TRE.
Ki Yoga Meditations: we will use our time on the meditation seat to explore unique ways to meditate. The meditations will always be aimed at toning the nervous system or quieting the mind.

*Complimentary shuttle service is only covered on the first and last day of the retreat. Shuttles times will be scheduled between 3p-6p on Sunday June 14 and 9a-12p on Saturday June 20th. A private shuttle can be arranged for an additional fee if needed.
